This is a free service funded by a state and county preventative health project. We serve pregnant women and mothers with infants living in in Nemaha County. A woman is seen monthly during her pregnancy by a Registered Nurse. A woman and her baby are seen by a Registered Nurse at least every two months after delivery until the baby is one year old. Appointments with the Registered Nurse are intended to enhance the care of the regular OB physician. This program is available to all pregnant women and mothers with infants living in Nemaha County.

  • Prenatal and Postnatal Education

  • Community Resources and Referral Information

  • Support team of your doctor, a Registered Nurse, a dietitian, and a social worker.

Primary Goals of the Mother and Infant Program:

  • Decrease premature births

  • Decrease low birth weight infants

  • Increase the percentage of women who receive early and comprehensive health care before, during, and after pregnancy.
