Purpose

Nemaha County Community Health Services has received a grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to address public health emergency preparedness and response. Tasks of this grant ensure that local public health capacities are in place to address large-scale disease outbreaks, illness, natural disasters, or bioterrorism events in Nemaha County. This grant funding has allowed Nemaha County Community Health Services to enhance technological capabilities and obtain various equipment and supplies to ensure the health and safety of the community.

Services Provided

  • Preparedness and response planning and assessments.
  • Communication enhancement between public health, community organizations, and first responders.
  • Increased capacity to conduct epidemiological and surveillance activities.
  • Educational and training opportunities for first responders and the public.
